I wanted some good Italian food and found this place on the Internet. I was very impressed with the refined ambiance, white linens, uniformed waitstaff and friendly hostess. With the exception of the salad, which was supposed to be Spring Mix greens, but was iceberg, still good but not what I was told, and the pasta side dish, which was bland and unexceptional. Awesome each and every time! – Wonderful dining experience
For our anniversary we paid over 60.00 for awful food, and poor customer service, our waiter was rude. his name l**ch. i can make those dishes much better at home. was not impressed. My husband spoke with the owner when he made reservations, he seems very nice, but his crew not great and he needs an experienced chef that knows flavor.
I could not believe the prices! The food was awful. I loved the bread though. We paid triple what we would pay at the Olive Garden for disgusting food. The server was rushing us, and when we declined on the wine, and asked for more bread he gave us a dirty look and made a rude comment to a coworker. The owner is not much better! Allright for Baton Rouge Standards – Made reservations for anniversary dinner. Asked if they do anything special for the occasion and told "no, but we give a slice of cheesecake on your birthday." Restaurant was quiet and the music was at a decent volume. However, in my book, any restaurant that has a lounge with a widescreen TV clearly visible from the dining room doesn't qualify as romantic or fine dining. The best Italian Food in Baton Rouge – I ate at Gino's in 1999 before senior prom. I ordered the champagne shrimp pasta, and it was everything I was hoping for and more! It was a very romantic restaurant. They had wonderful service, with servers treating us as respectful adults even though we were teenagers. Good food good service! – I read the fist two reviews on this page for Gino's before making my reservation and going there to dine, so I had a preconcieved notion of what the place would be like. I was pleased when ithe positive notions of the article turned out to be true also, of my experience. The atmoshpere is very dark, but this is also true of many Italian restaurants of the same caliber of Gino's, in which I have dined.
