Unfortunately my experience with Gillware was a nightmare and I would strongly consider other options. This service was promoted by a local business that was unsuccessful in retrieving my data from an external Seagate backup disk drive. Their flyer leads you to believe they are overly successful at retrieving data from dysfunctional drives. Negative 100000 Lack of knowledge on anything Apple..... and plug ins.... don't let the talk fool you.... they have no idea of what they are talking about when it comes to Apple or Mac plug ins.... one person says one thing and the other person says another..... absolutely useless if you ask me.....they think you can take a Range Rover to a Ford mechanic and it'll run just fine..... I guess that goes to show you anyone can open a LLC.....

I recently did a real dumb thing. I DID NOT back up my pictures, and guess what? Yup you got it. My computer crashed and I sat horrified as I watched 7 years of my life whiz off into cyber space. My son who has a computer sales and service store tried unsuccessfully to recover them. He said Mom it is going to take a “clean room” attempt if that will even work and it is expensive. My hard drive crashed about 2 weeks ago, so I took it to my regular computer repair shop.....they were unable to recover any data. They recommended Gillware. I'm so glad they did. I took the hard drive in on 9/21/09 and picked it up 09/28/09....it was done before that, but I was unable to pick it up . All my data is there and everything seems to be working. Best of all, my son is off my back for "losing his music". Can't thank you enough.
I recently lost all my data that was housed on my external HD, all of my photos from the day my daughter was born, ect. I lost a lot of valuable work data, so we sent it off to a different company. They quoted one price (higher than Gillware's) and when they got the drive they doubled it with no explanation. When we refused to pay, they charged $100+SH to release the drive back to us. A friend highly recommended Gillware. They were great on the phone, quoted a lower price than I found anywhere and that was the price I ended up paying in the end. My hard drive crashed and I was devastated....everything was lost. We took it to some computer "experts" and were informed it was completely gone, irretrievable, and the only hope was to spend an obscene amount of money for an attempt at data recovery.
