ALERT: BENIGN TEAR IN THE SPACE/TIME CONTINUUM IN DEWITT: Last night I traveled back in time to apparently sometime in the 1950s, because when I stopped in at Gilbert’s Hardware in DeWitt on my way home from work, as I stepped through the door I was greeted promptly and courteously by an adult, quickly directed to the right product by a knowledgeable employee, and sincerely thanked several times on my way out.
