Nice place to meet up with old friends and have a drink or dinner This establishment is located on Harper Avenue between 9 and 8 Mile roads. There is an outside area to eat at, as well as indoor dining. Prices are moderate and comparable to other eateries in the area. The staff is nice and service is quick and with a smile. This is where Eminem (Michael Mathers) used to work as a cook! You can also play Keno and listen to music. There is a separate room that you can rent for small parties, too.
Gilberts Lodge This place is always packed, which says a lot for its food to me. They have a great selection of food and it tastes great. It seems everytime I go I order something different and I am never dissapointed. We try to go here once a month because we like it so much. The service is quick with the exception of the initial wait to get seated.
Great Lodge Setting Gilberts is good food. At good prices. It's easy to find and has great parking. The staff is great, very friendly. They do banquets. But the food. The burgers are hot, juicy and thick. And you have to try the Pretzel buns for your sandwich - these taste great! Fries thick and just right. Pizza is really good. Salads are good too. Chocolate Chip cookies - hot to your table! Try them, I recommend them.
GREAT THis place has AWESOME burgers and great drinks perfect place to meet with a friends for drinks and dinner . You can also sit outside in the summer very nice! They have very good mozzerella sticks too and the waitstaff are so friendly . they are even fast on carry outs. A noodle at the bottom of a glass of beer got a response from the manager . . . "we don't have that kind of noodle here!!". Gilbert's . . . never again!!!!
Great Friends, Good Times, FIX THE AIR CONDITIONING – We meet several very good friends at Gilberts a few times a week and love the atmosphere. The food is very good, many choices. They are remodeling and it is looking FABULOUS. We love the managers/bartenders and the waitresses they are great and on the ball. There is only one problem. The Air conditioning has not worked all summer and this has kept us away. I used to have to bring a sweater along in the summer, now I have to leave because of the heat.
