Our room was in the oldest part of the complex and offered a wrap around 2nd floor porch shared with neighboring rooms. The room was very clean, rustic but elegant, and the bed was top flight. We went and had dinner with our family. The service was good. Our waitress was extremely nice. The food was horrible. Not the way it was ordered. The steak has zero seasoning. Over cooked. The fries were literally frozen fries with no seasoning. They couldn't get the drinks right. Out of a ton of ingredients. The list goes on. Save your money and go get good with flavor.
This is a great location in a very cute and walkable town -- Apalachicola is the perfect stop if you are in the area. The hotel itself is a beautiful old Inn and the new building keeps the classic styling while including all the updates and very comfortable accommodations. As their website advertises, the rooms are absolutely sound proof. These are some nit-picks, but their coffee service stops at 8am (none in room) and none of the ice machines worked -- it was definitely pricey for a cold winter month. The young women a... read more
Absolutely beautiful Inn! Such a lovely time here. Close to eating and shopping as well as St George Island. Bed was super comfy, but we did hear Captain Wood one night for those interested in the spooky side of the Gibson Inn. 10 outta 10 would recommend!
