Classic, they are still in the process of bringing the grand old beauty bake to her former glory, so some of our experience might differ, but you could definitely tell the finished product will be lovely. In the meantime it’s still a great stay, unfortunately the restaurant was closed the night we stayed but the bar was open, very nice classic bar. Such a restful and enjoyable stay! The rooms were clean, well-stocked, and comfortable. There's local history integrated inyo every decor detail, and yet it's updated and current, too. Highly recommend the in-house restaurant. The staff are amazing and the food was great! Try anything with seafood & don't be disappointed. The key lime pie is divine, and the vinegar fries pair well with the po'boy sandwich. We'll be back when the renovations & new pool are completed. Five stars!
The Gibson Hotel is a wonderful place to spend time. We enjoyed room #313 during the Memorial day weekend. Well appointed and very comfortable. Sitting on the porch was so relaxing, we highly recommend a visit. But beware, don't buy the breakfast option. We arrived late afternoon and decided to try the food from the on-site restaurant, The Franklin. It's convenient. Despite the well poised staff, the food was awful. Aside from the excessively high salt content, the food is over priced and tasteless. Try the Chocolate Coffee ... read more
