why Marriott? It’s a lot more expensive & less amenities, Getaway Cabins was my go-to & now I can’t justify it.
Really nice getaway. Finally got to do one of these. An hour and half away from port Austin too which was nice to visit. They do have noise restrictions so it was pretty quiet during our stay. They provide a good amount of amenities including, fire starter, basic cookware and utensils, olive oil and salt and pepper. Some snacks and beverages. I was pleasantly surprised. The stay was okay. I upgraded to a river view and was told that it came with snacks, drinks, s’mores and a view of the river. Upon my arrival the only snacks was a small bag of popcorn, and no s’mores. I reached out as i was looking forward to the s’mores. That was part of the reason i upgraded my stay. I feel like i should have been compensated for the inconvenience. Also there was no river view. Extremely Disappointed – Unreliable and Poorly Managed I booked a cabin with Postcard Cabins (St. Louis location) over a month in advance for a surprise getaway with my husband. Less than 24 hours before check-in, I received a call informing me that my reservation was being canceled due to overbooking. The employee I spoke to admitted they had “gone through the list” and simply didn’t have a cabin for me.
