Used to love Getaway before it sold out to Marriot. Immediately they upped their rates, lowered their level of service, added on nonsense fees, and completely erased the rewards we had earned from staying there so many times. Not only did we lose our free nights, but we can’t even afford to come here anymore. Prior to Marriott, I had came every year for four consecutive years. It’s all over now & it’s really sad. We used points to pay for our hotel stay just to be charged an unannounced and hidden fee, called a “destination fee.” Destination fees are used to pay for amenities such as pool, gym, Wi-Fi, etc. However, this facility did not have any of that. We enjoyed the privacy. However, if you’re going to charge me for something, it better be there to be able to use.
