They "stole" Inspirus CU good business practices and clarity only to make it as clear as mud. I wanted to transfer my money through "External Transfer" option to another institution. I have been at it ever since the joint venture happened in November 2020. To this day, nobody has given me clear directions. Whatever laconic they write, lousily at that, is not helpful. The GESA should get out of business. To circumvent I take a specific amount of money every day, and with the pain in the behind, deposit at the other institutio... read more

This company should be investigated for wire fraud. They are willfully negligible on their own accounting. I have had checks written to nicknames on payees, they can't cash the check, but my account is now minus the dollars, and they refuse to return the money. If you try their contact methods, you will be in for a 2 hour wait on the phone, and they will NEVER respond to your email inquiries. They are too busy stealing your money and mismanaging their assets. Inspirus had its issues, but this is downright criminal.

Since the take-over of Inspirus, I have tried to get answers to some issues with my accounts MANY times. GESA does not answer the phone (I've been on hold for 30 minutes + many times, with NO indication that I'm in queue or wait times), nor do they respond to secure messages sent online (I've sent a half dozen over 10 days asking for a call back)– no reply. I do much business online, and GESA is simply the worst. I've been a customer of this credit union, through many changes, since the mid-70s– it seems sad that I should ha... read more

As the previous reviews state, this is a terrible bank. I was previously with Inspirus, a locally owned school employee credit union, which just merged with GESA. After the merger, my ATM network changed from an ATM within walking distance that allowed $300 withdrawals per transaction to an ATM a block over with a $200 withdrawal limit per DAY. On my 2nd day visiting that ATM, on 11/10, it said I exceeded the time limit and took my money back. I was able to make another successful withdrawal and after waiting 35 minutes on h... read more

This credit union is ill-equipped to manage its own business. I am a former Inspirus customer who originally joined School Employee Credit Union. As of now I cannot access my account online ... which means I cannot access it at all. I am so glad I only use the account as a "forced" savings account .... Today I cancelled direct deposit from my paycheck and will close the account as soon as I can. Already had difficulties with logging on the first time and hoped that would be the end of the problems. I wanted to check my balan... read more

I was a 20+ year member of a credit union that merged first with one other CU, then Gesa last month. On October 30, few days prior to the merger, I used my Inspirus CU Debit card as instructed (November 2 was the day of the transition). The following week, I contacted Gesa because I noticed at least one charge I made on October 30 was not showing up in my transactions, and I worried that I was forgetting others but relied upon my typically accurate transaction log to track my spending. When I contacted Gesa, they couldn't ex... read more

If possible I would give a minus 5 stars !! Service is almost not available. By phone expect at least 30 minute waits and then they transfer you to someone else and you wait again. Told they would call me back and been days with no call back. Tried on line chat and first response was that I would have a 62 minute wait !! Pathetic

I can't get my money out of GESA quick enough. I never had an issue with Inspirus Credit Union which merged with GESA. Inspirus, BIG HUGE MISTAKE! I will be closing all my accounts with GESA and moving to BECU as soon as possible. I would rather go through the hassle of moving my accounts versus dealing with GESA one more day!

What a joke. They merged with my old bank ********/School employees credit union. My family has been using this bank for over 20 years. It is IMPOSSIBLE to talk to someone and when I did (after waiting 2 hours) he was rude and acted like I was bothering him with my questions about my car loan. I called back trying to speak with someone else but was disconnected after 11 minutes of waiting 4 times in a row. IF YOU ARE SOMEONE THAT WAS APART OF ******** before, check your credit score. This merger has showed on my credit as cl... read more

Business response:

The members of ******** Credit Union approved of the merger with Gesa Credit Union in 2018. This has been a long process which culminated with the moving of ******** members to the Gesa banking system over the weekend of October 31 - November 1. We are sorry for any stress and inconvenience the merger process has caused and are committed to helping our members through this transition. As you noted we have experienced very high call volumes and longer than average wait times. We're working hard to get issues resolved as quick... read more
