I needed a transmission service for my GLA 250. Called German motors, asked for estimate - $385. Scheduled an appointment. When I came, the person at reception told me it would cost $420. I was surprised but said OK. No written estimation. I thought it would be fine. But I was surprised again when they charged me $550. I argued that is not the price we agreed. German motors is my new go-to Audi repair shop. I first went to another local repair shop with an urgent "turn engine off" warning light. It was diagnosed as a leaking water pump and thermostat housing, estimated at $2100. I asked if it could be a warranty item, and they said no. I called Audi Marin (an hour away) to double check, and they said IF it's the water pump, yes, the work would be fully covered.
