Original move in with GerardRe was smooth and they seemed helpful, but that was followed with issues. They had doors removed when I first moved into the house (including the back door which was wide open and a security concern for me) and never reinstalled one inside despite having a work order requested (for over a year) and calling them multiple times asking when it would be put back. In response to your review, let's start with the work orders in the system. 1) The pantry door had been removed inside the home and was supposed to be replaced by a contractor that failed to do so. You did not bring this to our attention that it hadn't been done. That door has been installed for the new tenant. 2) There was never a missing exterior door on the property and furthermore your home was never left to where you couldn't lock it. In twelve years of living in rental properties, I do not believe I have ever been treated as poorly as I have been by Gerard Real Estate. They claim to clean properties before move in. My family moved into a property that had not been cleaned in an age. There was rotting food in the refrigerator that had been disconnected from power during the Abilene summer heat for weeks. We reviewed this file as soon as Jim called demanding the remaining deposit back. For starters, he is correct about the condition of the house at the time of move-in. His family was the first tenant that we placed in the property and the owner did all the make-ready on the property. That is not his fault, instead we should have insured it was ready and it wasn't.
