George Murphy Contracting built our new home on Painted Church Road in South Kona in 2021. They did an outstanding job on what was a complicated project in terms of connecting the new home to an existing building in such a way that both became one structure. We could not be more happy with the result. George Murphy’s office manager, field crew and subcontractors were skilled, professional and a pleasure to work with, as was George himself. I would not hesitate to recommend George Murphy Contracting to anyone.
(2021) This contractor built a home for us 4 years ago. We should have backed out when he emailed us after his initial bid to inform us that our construction would cost 33% more than estimated. And despite putting another $40,000 into the home (to finish an unfinished area) it still has not appraised for what it cost. His carpenters and many subcontractors were not skilled and finishes in our home were appraised as “fair” despite the $700,000+ price tag. He was never at the worksite and it was a mess! Aloha! We had an amazing experience working with George and his son, Keoki on our house project. We had our roof replaced with a beautiful metal one, gutters replaced, deck completely redone with Trex decking, and six glass panels installed. If you’re looking for an honest, hard working team to work on your home, very highly recommended!
