About this business
George Gaines repaired wrist watches during the Depression. He kept the repair jobs in an old cigar box that he carried with him when he rode his bicycle home at night. Pop was the front man. He never met anyone that he couldn't talk to and be friends with. In future years as the business grew Mr. Gaines would walk the streets downtown seeing how all the other shopkeepers and customers were doing, and of course visiting at the same time.
