I have to say as a brand new patient who had two genuine concerns I was taken back by his bedside manner and attitude which was very condescending. Yes I may be younger than the average patient but I paid my copay and expected him to listen instead of making g me feel like an idiot. I even had to raise my voice at him to express my disapproval about a certain topic.
New patient follow-up visit.
In May of 2019 I had a large, malignant tumor in my left kidney. Dr. Vassar had to remove the entire kidney. I found him to be very competent, skilled and knowledgeable. His office is very well run and friendly.
I find him very knowledgeable and very caring
There are a few studies that indicate a doctor will stop listening to a patient and interrupt them within 12 seconds of an exam. Dr. Vassar is not interested in patient input, but his clinical assessment. Very text book solutions to issues. Someone told me he specializes in cancers and I did not see him for a cancer-related issue. So, perhaps my condition was not what he was used to treating on a daily basis. If you desire input into your care, he is not the doctor for you.
Dr. Vassar saved my life. I had a tumor located on my right kidney which he removed. I highly recommend him to any one with any urological problems. He is very knowledgeable and professional. He explains exactly what the problem is and how he is going to fix it.
Very bad experience with doc. Found out we weren’t the first! Got a phone call from Dr. Vassar that I had cancer while driving. Doc said to just get onto my patient portal to find out anything else. It takes 2 days to process into the patient portal for 1st time. When I got in, it was very confusing with stages, grades, Gleason score we knew nothing about. We asked for a call back to talk and asked questions. Doc said we had to wait 10 days for meeting to talk. Just go have Merry Christmas!
Horrible customer service. Requires a $100 deposit for an appointment. My insurance covers 100%
Efficient and no waiting. Nice desk personnel. Randy rehm
