I had a very positive experience with Gentle Touch Hospice when my friend was dying of advanced breast cancer. Her family was struggling to take care of her themselves; they didn't know that Medicare pays for 100% of the bill for hospice care. I’ve always heard hospice is supposed to be supporting and comforting with a compassionate touch. Interestingly enough you have to have people contact in order to feel support, comfort, and compassion. We can’t get any services we’ve asked for from Gentle Touch. What’s the point if all they are going to do is provide equipment?

This hospice company is great as long as the patient is never going to die. Hospice, should be the last term of your loved ones healthcare. This company was great until my father started to die ...then they had no clue what was going on. Not only were they unsupportive at the most critical time of need, their manager was actually yelling at me for being desperate for guidance with morphine they expected me to administer to my father.
