For almost two decades now, natives and tourists alike have been coming to Gennaro's Pizzeria and Italian Cuisine. When you first walk into Gennaro's, you’re greeted with the dessert case! They're all homemade, including the cheesecakes, the cannolis and my favorite, carrot cake. We use to go often, time before last it was not very good, this time it was terrible, won't be back !
First time there, and we will never go back again. Just awful. Their house salad was a joke, as they were out of everything. The garlic cheese bread was basic, and just garbage. We asked about the garlic knots, and never got any. We ordered a pizza, I believe it was Nonna's pizza, and it showed up WITHOUT CHEESE. A pizza without cheese? The waiter said the chef told him that he couldn't put cheese on the pizza and cook it because it would mess up the sauce.. What? I refused to eat cold cheese on their "pizza." Quaint little place on St Pete Beach. We go every year for her birthday dinner. The garlic knots are enormous and delicious, and the food is always good. Definitely a hidden gem.
My husband and I love it. When you walk in the first thing that hits you is the delicious smell! The food is great! Especially the pizza.( I'm a pizza lover) very friendly service. They really try to please their customers. It's very small but cozy. Once you try it you'll want to go back to try something else.
