I bought a Genie opener, installed it and a few months later it failed. I couldn't figure out the issue, so I contacted Genie and described it and they told me to call a service company they recommended, which owns Genie. The serviceman said it was a broken sensor that happens a lot on that model and he had extra sensors with him and fixed it there. Minimum one hour charge plus part. I paid him but couldn't get Genie to reimburse me because they said they don't cover labor, only the $15 part, which they also didn't pay. They... read more
Poor customer support. They make smart door controllers but the set up and instructions are absolutely the worst of any product I’ve purchased. The instructions were poor and left out an important step. Once I had it their Aladdin Connect up and running it operates great and all feature work.
Be very careful when dealing with this company. Here is why i say so. I ordered online garage door opener system on Sunday, February 2 at 11:15 pm ET or so. Upon examining their order detail, i changed my mind and called in on Monday, February 3, at 8:20 am ET or so, within a matter of 9 hours or so on weekend, mind you, to cancel my order. Unbelievable as it seems, the agent tells me he cant cancel my order as it has already been shipped. This company is deplorable. Customer Service is an oxymoron. Incompetent, unprofessional, poor product knowledge. There answer for product issues is call an installer and then hang up(Arillio). First photo is of genie that raised & closed the garage door for 14 years (1/2hp). Second photo of new Genie 7155TKV that can't open the door(1 1/2hp).
Dont buy a Genie! Genie used to be great, simple and long lasting openers. Now they make many models that change all the time, so when your opener breaks, "Oh gosh, sorry we don't have parts for that model anymore." When I bought my genie I called and asked them if a belt drive would last as long as a chain drive. They said, "Sure, they last for decades." BS! My Genie was @11 years old when the belt shredded. Genie was NO HELP. They suggested that I buy a new opener! Ha! I will - but it won't be a Genie! It's also a disgusti... read more
