My uncle had a stroke two years ago and received excellent care there.
This review is not for the Geneva Hospital. we have always had great expeiences with the hospital & clinics until today. This review is to Fingerlakes Bone & Joint clinic, 875 Pre-Emption Rd.,Geneva, NY. I am 67 yrs. old. I hurt my shoulder a couple yrs. ago & tore ligaments & tendons. When given consent paperwork, I was reading through it and the surgeon, very impatiently and rudely said, "This isn't a contract, I can assure you it's all very standard, just sign it, you don't need to read it"... uhm that's a red flag right there that I DO need to read it. Some poor fumbling nurse was meanwhile trying to put a catheter in my vein while I'm trying to read... plus the care I received was god awful, when I was finally transferred to my own hospital, my multiple doctors and nurses commented on everything from ... read more
I was surprised to read the previous reviews. My experience was the complete opposite. Last year my dad had a MAJOR medical emergency. After it was determined he would not survive transportation to Rochester, the medical team pulled off a miracle. Since I live in Ohio and wasn't able to get a flight out until the next morning, the surgeon himself called me to explain the situation and the plan.The team kept me informed of this progress all night. My mother suffered a stroke and was unable to use her hands, arms and legs in the immediate days that followed. The nurses did not even know why she was there. When asked if she had eaten yet the reply was, "well the food is still on the tray." Noone had fed her or checked to see if she was able to do this herself. Noone was available to assist her using the bathroom either. We would not recommend this facility due to the lack of honest information and support. We asked clear questions and got unclear, dishonest answers. Our children deserve better and safer than the 'care' we had been given here before and we couldn't be any happier now that we've taken our business elsewhere.
