Took my car to them some time ago ( I was away from home) since the A/C was not working. I was told that the A/C compressor was bad and that the system was leaking Freon. They wanted to change out the complete A/C system. Estimated repair cost around $ 3500. When I took the car to my trusted local repair shop they affirmed to me that Freon levels are perfect, no leaks and no bad compressor. Paid $ 129 for a false diagnosis. BEWARE OF SCAM

First few times they did excellent and varied work. Then work involving the carburetor resulted poorer performance than before, ir turned out they left the vacuum hose to the distributor off, then working on brakes on four separate visits inside of a year, the brakes got worse each time. I gave up on them after $4.000, and brakes still not properly repaired. Philo Farnsworth.
If you’re looking for honest reputable mechanics and people this is where you go. They are absolutely wonderful and thorough. Wouldn’t use anyone else.
Had them Inspect 2 used cars I bought from Carmax, They found a minor ($600) problem on the BMW that had escaped Carmax. the Ford was ok. Carmax paid for the repair. After the factory warranties are up I will probably go back to General. The inspections are CHEAP PROTECTION!! Love General and Carmax General does remember your name it's a great place

After 6 visits dealing with my air conditioner, and hundreds of dollars, I thought they fixed it. Only to drive my explorer to Florida and my passengers and dogs were miserable.. We had NO air. They said they fixed it by disconnecting the line that ran to the third row seating. I ended up taking it to a small shop in Florida. Was told they mangled the line and over charged the Freon. This Florida shop fixed the issue on the first visit, including replacing the mangled line. And it cost less then I over paid at General auto. ... read more
Find yourself a place like this, where they know your name, not just your car! Not only is the service great, the customer service is outstanding. I've had tires replaced and other work done here, and been very satisfied. Most recently, I rolled in with a low rear tire and the guys checked it out for leaks, refilled all my tires, and sent me on my way asking nothing in return. I know they value my repeat business, and this was a very nice way to show it. I'll definitely be back!
