Great cuts for cheap! Here's the place to come for a great, cheap haircut! This is where the future GJ grads build hours towards graduation by cutting peoples' hair, doing their nails, and keeping things in the salon GJ caliber. I go here for a good haircut for $8.00. Just think, in a couple of months, you can get a cut from some of these students at a real GJ salon and spend over $100. It's the bargain of the century. I've never had a bad cut or trim here either. PROS: Nice, frienly staff and students, cheap! CONS:
No second visit. would not recommend I got lucky today. I had the best instructor & technicians. Hated the atmosphere. Deidra, RyAnn, and Taylor made my day...a long day. The salon is sloppy and the staff is unprofessional and they lack continuity in their training model. Most of the students there looked lost, scared, or bored. Very unorganized and not relaxing or comforting. I have done the hair model thing for several years at some of Seattles most reputable salons...this isnt one of them.
Gene Juarez Quality, for under 10 dollars! This is a well known secret if you live in the Pierce County area and happen to be on a budget! The Gene Juarez Academy of beauty is a full service salon, with services being performed by students! I went there with my mother and got a great haircut for 9.99. Then on your way out they will give you a 50% off of any service.. PROS: Great quality haircuts for under 10 bucks! CONS: Takes a little longer because you must remember.. These are students!
Nothing but good to say about them My experiences at the South campus (Federal Way) have all been very positive. Everyone there was nice and professional. If you want a stylist who is professional and talented, I highly recommend Berlin. To date she has cut and colored my hair twice and given me a perm. They have all turned out top notch and I am especially impressed with the perm. I have very fine hair and have had probably 30+ perms in my life. Don't waste your TIME/hair or money I was there for 4 hours my haircut ($12.95 was barely a trim & my golden highlights (The $54 partial foil I paid for) was not even noticeable except the couple of blonde streaks, when I told them I couldn't even tell that my hair had been done they offered to throw in a few more foils but after being there for 4 hours I declined the offer & decided to not go back-btw I said I'd never go back once before (5 years before) because I was tired of spending 40 minutes in the reception area & 1 1... read more
okay I guess you can't expect the very best if you go to a beauty school. I went to Gene Juarez to get my hair cut and highlights. Their hair cuts are cheap. Their highlights are reasonably priced. It took forever for them to get the highlights done. I told them what I wanted and they kept telling me they didn't think it would work, but it did. Help the Students, Get a cheap Hair cut All those professional hair stylist must start somewhere, and this is the place. High quality school for up and coming Hair stylist. Great value, but it is a school so they are not fast. Expect to have a teacher inspect your hair cut at least two times, after all you kind of become a "guinea pig". PROS: Great value, good parking CONS: call for directions; may be very busy; slow hair cuts (they are learning)
Bad Bad Experience.... I wouldn't even think twice about going back to the Northgate location. It was the worst expereince of my life. I love salons and I love getting my hair done, but these were the most unprofessional people I have ever encountered and I would strongly not recommend this place.
Great Haircuts I go here to get my haircut because the students are excited about moving into the last stage of their schooling and they do a great job cutting my hair and they really do care about how you look and what you like. PROS: You get treated very good CONS: Call Ahead. Haircuts are usually a few days out.
