GEN Korean BBQ never disappoints! The quality of the meat is excellent, and everything comes out fresh and full of flavor. There are so many options to choose from, so everyone at the table can find something they enjoy. The staff was attentive, friendly, and quick to bring out refills without us having to wait long. I made a reservation and, to no surprise, still had to wait over 20 minutes past the scheduled time. While that was frustrating, I was initially understanding since my party was larger than originally reserved and I appreciated the accommodation. So I'm from Houston and I love gen over this one was the absolute worst experience I've had at gens. -First off any of the hot food we ordered was cold and I mean cold, the room temperature was hotter than the food they brought out. -Second they kept on bringing our orders wrong. We ordered bulgolgi fries and Cheese tonkatsu they brought us something else. -thrid our waitress (Leila think that was her name) was pretty much non existent. It’s all you can eat and the food is good, so the price is fair. However, Gen can improve. The service is friendly but there appears to be some communication issues. Items ordered took over an hour to arrive despite reminding waitstaff 3 separate occasions. While a kind gesture, it seems common for items you didn’t order just to be given to you as a courtesy, but still it would be nice to get what you specifically ordered. And finally the floor is always very slippery throughout the dining area.
Mediocre food. Atmosphere was old and dirty but most importantly the SERVICE was terrible. The manager and everyone making decisions need to go. They don't even give you a menu and pressure you to order quickly and they verbally offer the cheapest things for you to order while making it difficult for you to see the menu so you can order something better.
