Once again, another dermatologist office who is all about profit & not about patient care. Won’t even schedule without a referral even though my insurance does NOT require one! Forget the fact I’m concerned for skin cancer. DO BETTER.
Dr. Anderson was very nice. However, the ability to call and talk to a person is AWFUL!!!! I left 4 messages in a month to schedule an appointment. I gave 2 specific dates that I would not be available to answer my phone when they called back. What days did they call???? Those 2 dates! When, after a month, I talked to a live person, and explained what happened, she abruptly said, 'We don't have time to listen to messages! How many calls do you think we get a day?' I was shocked. I have been a patient here and would recommend this Dermatology center. Staff are friendly, doctors are knowledgeable, my only complaint is communication is a challenge. I can't get anyone on the phone if I call the place directly, but they did return my call within a timely manner. My recommendation is if you are having trouble reaching someone at this location or haven't gotten a call back than use the "My Health Patient Portal" to send a message. That is what I did and i got a phone call back within a hour.
Phone prompts are horrific. The recorded message you receive when you call this place is extraordinary long, monotonous and maddening. When you finally reach the part to talk to a scheduler, no one is EVER available and you have to leave your name and number. Customer Service is at an all time low with this dermatology group. Penn State needs to do better!
Ridiculous! The doctor took a biopsy from my right ear. I didn't want the biopsy because I knew it wasn't cancerous. The doctor took the biopsy anyway. The biopsy came back as normal skin. Since it was normal skin the insurance treated it as cosmetic. I complained to the insurance and to the doctor's office. The manager at the doctor's office claimed it was waived.
