I came in at noon on a Sunday with an urgent matter. My work computer stopped working after trying to upgrade the RAM. The guy at the desk told me they would get on it and call me in a couple hours. They never called. I tried to contact them for hours but it is IMPOSSIBLE to actually reach a store. There is no way to reach an actual Best Buy store by phone. I would give 0 stars if I could. Never coming back to Geek Squad. They charged me $200 of services I was not informed about ahead of time. Then when I call customer service, they say refund is not possible because I “approved” the services. I brought my laptop in for diagnostics. They told me it would take 2 days, it ended up taking 4 days for diagnostics. This store is atrocious. I went here to purchase a Star Link in May. Not only did they state that Star Links do not work and advised me against it, they also had me order a post for 74 dollars to mount the Star Link. Firstly, it did not need the post. Secondly, they only gave me store credit back instead of my money. I will never go to best buy again. Also, Star Link has been so helpful, so I don't know why Best Buy advised against it. If you need technical direction, DO NOT GO TO THIS BEST BUY PLEASE!
I paid for a 5 year warranty. They refused to honor it and referred me to the manufacturer warranty. They made no attempt to give me any contact information. I spend time on online chat, followed by waiting on hold for 30 min to be told they couldn’t help. The manufacturers warranty is a complicated process and that’s why I had selected the 5 year plan.
