Doesn't listen. Makes snap decisions and isn't capable of treating each patient individually. Terrible bedside manner
If you're healthy, definitely go see him. Read that again, if you're HEALTHY, I would totally see him. Caring for unhealthy individuals isn't really his thing.
I don’t know why it took me so long to review him, it’s been 2 years but I still get angry. He was assigned to me as my primary care physician following a DVT. I was 20 so that surprised everyone. Gavin Van Staden did not listen to me in the slightest. My surgeon told me I would need to be on Eliquis for the foreseeable future, and my primary care physician will prescribe it for me. Dr. Van Staden is the best! Very personable and friendly. Such a great guy to talk to and listens to concerns. He will address your needs and help you feel confident about next steps. He is even great at reaching out through the MyChart app to answer questions after the appointment. Couldn’t recommend him enough!
He may be a good doctor if you you're looking to get in and out as quickly as possible, but don't expect him to address any more concerns beyond your chief complaint. He comes off as very rushed, and trying to push through his day quickly to see all of his patients in a timely manner. So while wait times are good, it means he loses out on personability.
