I highly encourage you to get a second opinion after getting any information from this man. I can’t even call him a doctor. He first treated my father for prostate cancer and then misdiagnosed the spread as liver cancer. Twice he told my father to get his affairs in order and that he would refuse to further look into any other options or treatments. My father got a second opinion in Dec 2020. The spread of prostate cancer to “liver cancer” was actually a form of aggressive variant prostate cancer. After this man told my father ... read more
Dr Thomas is my oncologist and I knew from my very first appointment that I was exactly where I needed to be. I trust him 100%. He is treating me for Breast Cancer and has helped me to remain hopeful. I am comfortable asking him questions and I feel that he is very accessible. I am truly blessed to have him as my oncologist! Because of him and his team, on June 23, 2025, I rang the bell!!!
He treats patients with rudeness and condescension, and does not explore treatment options or collaborate with your other doctors.
I was treated with a lumpectamy and radiation for my early stage breast cancer at Duke Hospital but elected to move my continuing care to Dr. Chahin after consulting with him twice. I found him to be extremely knowledgeable and he took to the time to explain my diagnosis and listen to my concerns regarding treatment. I feel that I am in very good hands and highly recommend him to others in need of a Medical Oncologist.
Breakdown in communication about my illness. I felt rushed during my last visit a couple weeks ago and it's still bothering me. He seems lazy and feigns concern. Unfortunately, I do not believe anything he says. That lack of trust is enough to make me look elsewhere, even if it means traveling all the way to Charleston
Dr. Mikell and the radiation therapy team in Hilton Head put the 'care' in medical care. From start to finish, Dr. Mikell, the nurse, Judy, the two therapists, Lana and Glenna, and the dietician, Anna, each did everything possible to keep me fully informed of what to expect, and how to deal with the side effects. Beyond their clinical excellence, each oncology team member showed genuine concern for my well-being, offering constant encouragement as I counted down the course of treatments. Although these treatments are never f... read more
Dr. Chahin is a good oncologist. Did not get the same feeling of 'corporate medicine' that I did in Savannah (where the oncologist referred to himself as a 'hired hand'). However, on my third visit to Dr. Chahin I became disillusioned after he volunteered that my cancer would definitely return ('somewhere') after three years of being essentially cancer free (a small metastasis on my lung was ablated) following surgery and further treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering in NY. A large percentage of patients do experience a recu... read more
Business response:
Hello! We are very sorry that you didn't have a better experience. We understand when a patient might want to seek out another doctor. But we'd also like to look into what happened and see how we can improve. We have sent your comments to the leadership of the Lewis Cancer
Amazing care from Dr. Mikell and his team of technicians, nurses and receptionists. They made me feel cared for even when I wasn't feeling so good.
My visits with Dr Chahin were very good. I found him to be knowledgeable, competent, and kind. He said my scan showed no changes and that I continue to be cancer-free. I was so relieved to hear that, of course! My only complaint was that I had to wait 10 days or so, from the time I got the MRI until I got the results from Dr. Chahin. I don’t know if that is a decision made by the hospital, the oncology department, or him - but when I was treated initially at UK Markey Cancer Center in Lexington, Ky, I would usually get MRI r... read more
