This hospitals doctors and staff lacks the communication skills necessary when dealing with the family of mentally ill patients. The doctor refused to even listen to family members concerns.
Friends staff is very rude and has no compassion.What a pitiful state our healthcare system has come to if this is one of the best facilities in the country. The "Doctor" on staff informed me that he was "spending time with his family" after I had him paged. This was after I tried to find out for 3 days - the status of a loved one and could not.
dont even bother with reading any of the other posts about friends hospital. there are no cocaroaches or rats or any of the sort and the facilities were very well maintained(as in daily).every morning you will rate how your feeling on a scale from 1-10, 10 being the highest. you will also be asked to set a goal for yourself to achieve that day. u get 3 meals a day, smoke breaks, a dr to perscribe meds, and a social worker. you also will be required to do 2 meetings a day, which last for about an hour but are very helpful to ... read more
Dr. Carrizo (and his staff) have treated me with respect and compassion in the 18+ months he has been my primary physician. Dr. Pickens has also treated me with the same respect and compassion, as have most of his staff ... and the one staff person Im not pleased with - well - she is doing what she thinks is best - that much Ill still say for her too. Being on medicaid Ive had my share of docs that are not good - these that I have now I hope to have for a long time. I do know that the clinic appears to be full in most areas ... read more
When I was a child I was hospitalized at Friends...I thought the nurses were so great that I became one. I ..many years later worked there. I am shocked at anyone who doesnt have a 5 star rating for this hospital. there are no mice, everyone has a private room, and there are many groups and ECT available to people who are medication resistant. Most of the nurses are masters prepared with years of experience.. They also have a crisis center so that people can be evaluated in a psychatric hospital 24/7 rather than a traditiona... read more
