I will state I was not the patient , but the patients fiancee. I will not go into the medical reasons my fiancee was seeing Dr. Herrero. The glaring issue with this Dr. was his attitude to my being there with my fiancee in the exam room. To be very clear she had asked me to join her in case I had questions concerning her condition and the results to her procedure. Be glad you have access to healthcare. I moved from Amarillo to the other end of the state and there are no programs like District Clinic here. There are based on income clinics but none offer any where near the services. It is impossible to get into a specialist if you need one and almost impossibile to get into the clinic at all. Whether you like the doctor that is seeing you, just be glad you get to see a doctor at all.
This place is awful. The website is so misleading. It wasnt until I got my personal doctor and lawyer involved that I was allowed to leave. I checked myself in, and they kept me there over a week, making excuses as to why I could not leave. They get 1200.00 a day from my insurance each day I stayed there. We were not allowed to go outside, the meals were awful and people were roaming in other peoples rooms. The staff was VERY rude and would disconnect my phone calls while talking to my attorney. First impression was not good. Staff could be kinder to people who visit. This is not a place for rude staff.

This is a very good, very caring physician! I have been seeing this physician for years and I cant say enough good things about him and his staff!! Glad we have good doctors like this in this area that are available to us.
I was in Friends during March of 2010 into April. It was the best place I could have ever put myself. Dr. Garbey and the Staff were incredible. The compassion alone was the awesome. They helped me with so much and still to this day I get a phone call every once in a while to see how I am doing. My life is not perfect but if it wasnt for Friends I probably wouldnt have my eight children or my husband anymore I was in another Mainland Hospital two years ago and they did nothing for me. An attempt was made to conceal plans to obtain a court order for continuation of an emergency detention. The position of Patient Advocate is combined with that of Director of nursing, constituting a conflict of interest. Clients were allowed to wander into the rooms of other clients. Meals were not appropriate for requirements for a person with special dietary needs. Client right to know medications, plan of care, and discharge plan were not forthcoming. It is difficult to see how anyone could get better in this environment.
