Our vineyards are perfectly sited- a South-facing slope of 10 to 15 degrees, between 350 and 500 feet above sea level. The red clay soils are very deep and moderately well drained. Each vine is tended by hand dozens of times throughout the growing season, and yields are kept extremely low. Biomass planting of the aisles, fish emulsions, and compost tea are methods used to protect soils and control water and nutrient levels.

Stuart and Melinda are wonderful! And Garden Vineyards in absolutely gorgeous! My husband and I had a gorgeous sunset wedding on site in August 2006. It was truly one of the best days of our lives. Our friends enjoyed it as well and to this day still talk about it. We continue to visit at least yearly. Stuart and Melinda are very welcoming and always host a lovely event. Be sure to make the trip out if you haven't yet. It is well worth the drive.
