Garden of the Gods Trading Post

4.0

About this business

For what it is worth, this massive shop wears the arcane throne of being Colorado's largest trading post. It caters to both souvenir hounds and art buyers. The souvenir section sells all the usual items including T-shirts, mugs, caps and postcards, and the store's Southwest Gallery serves as a monument to the creative genius of Native American artists. Shelves are filled with Navajo rugs and weavings, sand paintings, jewelry, Taos drums, decorative and functional gourds, baskets and Cosanti windbells.

Garden of the Gods Trading Post We recently visited Colorado Springs and one of our first stops was garden of the Gods Trading Post. What a wonderful gem in this equally beautiful place. The Trading post is a store and restaurant, with a great menu to choose from and very reasonably priced. The atmosphere is wonderful and you can dine inside or outdoors under the trees. The items for sale in the store are of a wide variety and very reasonabley priced. Definitley a place to visit in the future! PROS: reasonably priced, great ... read more

There is a rande of souvenirs for you and people back home. Springs calendars make a pretty gift. Spend some time in the Southwestern Gallery.

Great Colorado Keepsakes The Garden of the Gods Trading Post is a great place to buy keepsakes to remember Colorado. There is a lot of variety and for a gift shop the prices are quite reasonable. They also have food and drinks available. You can always find coupons in various visitor guides as well. It is a nice place to visit. PROS: lots of variety and good prices CONS: none

An old fashioned trading post " In the early 1920's Charles Strausenback built the Trading Post to resemble the homes of the Pueblo Indians. Since that time, the Trading Post has expanded 6 times to become Colorado's largest Trading Post." This is probably the best trading post I ever went to! It is so much fun to wander and explore... you could spend hours looking around here (and I think I did!)

Huge selection I do admit that the Garden of the Gods Trading Post is yet another tourist trap. BUT it's such a fun tourist trap - you can spend hours in there just looking around. The prices are typical also for a tourist trap, example is a postcard you can get from Walmart for 50 cents is 1.00 here. But, it's still fun to visit from time to time! I'm one of those strange people who enjoy visiting all of my local tourist traps every single year, just because it's fun! Be sure to check out their 'gourmet' foods section for s... read more
