I had Dr. Gallagher since I was 20 years old. He helped me through my problems then and currently now. I am 72 and he helped my brother Tom when he had lung cancer. Even he and his secretary Cliff came to his wake when he passed awayAbout a 50 mile drive for themI like and respect him very much.
The doctor listened and clearly identified important issues that I was facing. He was the only doctor who I had spoken with that immediately recognized and diagnosed a devastating disorder that was destroying my family. I am forever grateful.
On April 17, 2023 my husband and I visited Dr Gallagher because my husband was beginning to show signs of possible dementia. We were told that Dr Gallagher could evaluate him, make arrangements for him to take a cognitive assessment test, and give us a diagnosis. I have seen him for many years and trust.
Dr. Gallagher is a fantastic doctor. He is great at listening to your symptoms and makes sure to fully understand what you are saying by using active listening. I have found him to be knowledgeable on a wide variety of medications and their side effects. This is not a doctor that is seems to be swayed by drug companies or their representatives, like others I have seen in the past.

My experience with Dr. Gallagher was not good. He spends very little time evaluating your issues and is quick to write prescriptions and not afraid to over-medicate Also, he doesn’t remember your sessions from one to the next even though he has your file and could prepare before you arrive for a session. Most of my short sessions focused on going back through his notes, which often had mistakes. There should be a six-month exam for someone practicing at his age. I don't think he would pass
He is a good listener. He doesn't judge and he does a very good job of validating. He understands my culture and he is good at understanding family systems
