Dr G replaced my hip in 2022 , then my shoulder in 2024 , he is a remarkable surgeon with a pleasant bedside manner..
I had a consultation with Dr. Galakatos for hip surgery. He said my vitamin d-3 level was low and wrote an order to get it tested at Quest Lab. For this simple test I was billed $266 because the order was written so that it was not covered by Medicare. My doctor would have done this test in his office and billed my insurance at no cost to me. When I asked Jennifer, his assistant, why this simple test was so costly, she said, "Dr. Galakatos doesn't know the cost when he writes an order". The unspoken rest of that sentence is ... read more
Had surgery on my shoulder and have had problems ever since. The doctor says I have arthritis the truth is that the procedure changed the geometry of my shoulder and I now have bone on bone issues that were caused by the surgery performed by Doctor I know Dr Galakatos means well and he’s an excellent actor, but my outcome was far from good and now I am in perpetual pain when moving my shoulder due to the bone on bone issue that was caused by his surgery
A godsend ,I had lost a lot of weight in Washington State to reach target weight, only to be told lose twenty five more. gained weight back. I required a total right knee replacement. 'Other' surgeons demanded I be at 40.0 BMI or less before they would even consider performing knee surgery. Dr. 'G' wasn't that way at all. He replaced my knee this last Tuesday (Dec. 12). I was kept overnight and released the next day. I'm home (now Dec. 15) and the home nurse and physical therapy personnel have already come to check on me today. They advise I'm doing wonderfully. Several of my bridge partners had Dr. G. do their hips, but I started my search at Barnes. Those crazy people told me I had to lose 50 pounds before they would *consider* operating. Dr. Galakatos is one of the very few surgeons in town who willingly operate on obese patients. He did a great job with my hip replacement, and I'm about to schedule a new knee from him. Highly recommended. Plus he looks like George Clooney....
He put my femur back together after it shattered into 3 pieces and is now healed as good as new. He explained everything that needed to happen, provided excellent care and compassion and provided a fabulous healing experience.
Dr Galakatos is a wonderful doctor. After 6 years of pain in my hip I had a hip replacement. The pain is gone and I feel like a new person. Dr. Galakatos did an excellent job. I would highly recommend him. Thank you Dr. Galakatos for taking away my pain.
