I remember meeting Mr. Gailes very fondly when I picked up my first violin in 2001 as a plucky ten-year-old. When I had to upgrade to a full-size in 2004, he merrily suggested a brand-new Hemler. A few years later, we bought it and it's aged gracefully. Wonderful staff! Very patient and experienced. Some 8 years ago when it came time to move from a rental viola to a permanent one, they were incredibly patient and thorough with my son and I. I am now on child number two and it’s the same pleasant service my daughter and I experienced when we purchased her viola a few weeks ago.

Gaile's Violin Shop is so supportive of the orchestra programs in schools! As an orchestra teacher for Prince George's County, I've felt very lucky to have such a wonderful violin store near by. My orchestra program has received two donated cellos, quite a few donated cases, and I don't even know how many sound posts have been reset on the school instruments! I can't say enough how much I appreciate this store!!
We absolutely LOVE Gailes! The staff are extremely knowledgeable, kind, helpful, and friendly. We took our five year old for her first violin and had a fantastic experience. They pulled five violins in her size and we went into a private room where we were able to listen to all of them be played and where she got to hold them and play herself.
