Friendly staff, great options, busy salon. – Friendly service and they always answer my questions. The prices are reasonable for the city. The only drawback is that is such a great place that sometimes it's busy. I'm definitely going to be a loyal customer though.
Great customer service – I don't know how nycgal had a bad experience because this place is great, the girls are very nice & friendly. The place is very clean and cozy it is not that big but comfortable enough, the wait isn't long. The machines are great you get a tan after your first visit. The prices could be a little better but overall I really recommend this place, not to mention that it is in a convenient area in midtown. The spray tan is also cool they have clear and bronze.
Great Tanning Salon in Midtown!! Friendly, Sweet Staff!! Great Beds!! – I don't know what the previous entry was about!!! This place is the BEST tanning salon in NYC. Do not go here!! – I found this place on citysearch and decided to try it out because of their citysearch coupon for buy one get one free. I spent $30 for a mystic tan a few weeks back and went in today to redeem my 2nd tan. Well they couldn't find my info in the computer system. I had to wait 15 minutes while they went in the backroom to call the manager. Finally they came and asked me to join them in the back of the salon and told me that their system was really accurate and so they couldn't honor my tan. The way they deal... read more
ALWAYS GET A TAN IN ANY MACHINE!!!! – I have had it with the ridiculous tanning salons who say you'll start to see a color change in "4 or 5" visits. I have had it with the ridiculous tanning salons demanding YOUR PERSONAL BANKING INFORMATION to get a good price. NO THANKS!! I'm supposed to trust them with my identity??? Love Tan in the Shade – I always mystic. They have the good machine with light, medium and dark. They also have both clear and bronze. This is important living in NYC because my skin color is so significantly different during the year. They did make a mistake once during the winter and I got a slightly darker color than I wanted, but they were really nice about it and comped me my next visit. Save your $$ – The best thing that this place has going for them is their location (midtown). Other than that, it is located in the upstairs of a dinky building. You wait 5 minutes for an old, ugly elevator to pick you up and take you upstairs. The place itself isnt very bad, but it is very small. They use a point system where you buy points instead of pay for a tan, which in turn, costs you about $20 for the lowest bed and they wont put you in past 8 minutes. Overall, way overpriced for an average, if not, subpar tan.
Best Tan In The City! – Tan In The Shade is awesome and the best place to tan. The staff is very knowledgeable, helpful and the friendliest in the city- not to mention they were TAN (which is always a good sign). They were so nice and answered all of my ??'s.
