I had a mammogram at Frye. First, they did not position me well and had to take extra images on both sides. They did not seem to care that additional images means additional radiation which, especially for a woman my age, increases my risk of breast cancer. Weighing risk versus benefit entails knowing your risk, and when 2 images on each side is the norm, that is what I expect the risk to be. That is not what happened. The patient was called back for additional images due to a request by one of our Radiologists, who wanted clarification from one of the original images. It is our duty to provide the best care possible for our patients and additional images are to protect the patient and validate questionable findings. A refund check was cut and mailed earlier this week. Thank you.
