For the last 20 years Frontier has slowly acquired the better part of the block facing Central Avenue across from the UNM campus. You will see study groups, people having coffee and lunch or the famous Frontier Cinnamon Roll, which is a huge, fresh sweet roll swimming in butter. Good food. Reasonably priced. Casual. Self serve. Best cinnamon rolls in town.
Great place to eat and people watch.
I had been to the Frontier years ago. Today I went there during a stressful week in order to relax and enjoy some good food. Surprise! No wait staff anymore. Stand in line, give your order, get a receipt, pick up your food by your number, find your own tableware. Everything there is filthy. I just happened to be sitting near an indoor ATM, a candy vending machine right in the middle of the dining area, stand alone tables, and chairs with torn seats. Nothing has been wiped down or seems "looked after". This place is a dump.
