While the Chorizo Frita was delicious and juicy, the Shoestring Fries were extremely disappointing. I specifically asked for crispy and they were limp and soggy.
I'm so glad I tried this location. I first tried the one in Ann Arbor and was NOT impressed. The food was overcooked and greasy. But the Detroit location knows what they're doing! I ordered almost a half hour before close but everything was still made fresh and with care. I got the Chorizo Burger (made it loco) with the twice fried ripe plantains. Perfection! The staff was great, too. (Also and improvement from the Ann Arbor one).
The loaded plantains were out of this world!!
Waited 30 minutes while they finished up a catering order to get some overcooked burgers with zero flavor. Been here plenty of times to know that's not how it should be. If I didnt just wait 30 minutes I'd sent it back and got another. Had no time. Not sure I'm coming back here again.
