So sad to hear Friends is closing! They had solid food, a great selection of beers on tap and without question, the best Happy Hour in Newtown. Jackie the bartender was always a welcoming presence. I’m really going to miss this place. Hard to imagine Newtown without it. 😢

Very sad to hear this place closing, has been one of our favorites for many years. This is one of the negatives of all of the renovation work the shopping center management company has done. Doubling rent for small business is not good for the community. :(
Just found out that our favorite place in Newtown is closing for good in a week. Apparently victim of not being high brow enough to still exist in our high brow area. Will be missed, was a great affordable comfortable and delicious option for years.
Very good but pricey.
