Buying Shoe's Here Since A Kid! – My grandfather brought me here as a kid to buy shoes, and said never pay retail. Retail is a nasty word I soon learned, but respected when I became a buyer for the late great Rich's Department Store. I was still a customer here while a student at GSU. I would run into Atlanta's powerbroker's, like Miles B. Lane, of C&S Bank fame, and we were all looking for a good value. Downtown's landmark services Don King's shopping sprees as well as the average person's budget. – The Scene Friedman's--which opened in 1927--is a living museum where athletes' jerseys and photographs autographed by everyone from Martin Lawrence to Tommy Lasorda grace the wall.
