We have been faithful customers of Friar Tucks for 35 years and because of their disregard for the health of their employees and customers, we will never eat or drink there again. So sorry that they chose this path as they did such a good job at the beginning. I’m supporting companies that believe in science and value the lives of others.
Since you refuse to support the health of the community by following the Health Department’s directives, we will no longer be eating at your restaurant. We will miss your most excellent food, but the community needs your support in order for us to feel right supporting your business. (WWJD? If you’re going to be public about your faith, it’s doubly important for you to walk the talk.)
Friar Tucks is a long time tradition in Nevada City that has been wonderfully kept alive over the years with great food and super fun atmosphere. If you are a local, be sure to support! If you are not, check it out while in town. You will not be disappointed.
Not complying with health mandates. I was a life-long Friar Tucks customer—from the 70s. Wherever I moved, including out of state, I would return there for special occasions. No more. They lost a life-long customer. Also a server tacked on a tip to the bill when I was going to tip even more in cash. For only 4 people. I know for large parties some restaurants do this. They hold true to the what Nevada City used to be like before all of the Bay Area transplants arrived. I’m glad they don’t cave or conform.
Friar Tuck's could improve by not violating health and public safety requirements. They risk becoming a vector for COVID-19.
