Used to be my Asheville go-to but they (or at least the employees) don’t appreciate the business. Paid to park and walk a few blocks to get dessert with my family. They close at 10 (Facebook says 12, but OK). We arrive at 9:45. They have a short line outside waiting and I’m told as I approach that I can’t get in line that they are closing shortly. The most incredible vegan friendly dark chocolate ice cream (made with coconut milk) - I was in heaven. Very friendly staff as well. A wonderful experience.
I got the Asheville Grown collection as a birthday gift to myself. The chocolates were high quality and very lovely. The only room for improvement is that there was no kick at all to the chocolate habanero. I expected a bit of heat from something containing such a hot chile.
I love this place soooo much!!! Had the privilege of eating there a couple of years ago. Just yesterday, I received a surprise package of chocolates for my birthday. Apparently they were shipped late, so they upgraded my order. They were wonderfully packaged and the ice packs were still frozen despite my living an hour and a half away. Now I’ve got to go hide my stash so I get to eat them all!! 😂
I ordered a few things from French Broad Chocolates to send to my mom down in Florida. She’s been isolated and I wanted to send her some things to make her smile. I ordered and totally put the wrong shipping address. I reached out to them and they responded and fixed it within the hour. It shipped a couple days later and my mom told me it arrived with immaculate packaging including freezer packs to keep the chocolate from melting. Best vegan chocolate. Period. I discovered French Broad while working in VA but I still regularly order to my home in NYC because I have yet to find their equal, especially in terms of vegan chocolate. Also, their business ethics seem pretty great.
