If your elder is banking with Fremont Bank, I strongly recommend pulling their funds and leaving immediately. My grandmother banked with them for over 40 years. they are rude and honestly made cashing a check my client gave me a struggle. what would normal take about 4 minutes took an hour. keep in mind there was one other client in the bank at the time. they tried to make open an account just to cash a check.
