I was referred to Dr. Pluenneke by my optometrist in fall of 2022 because he found a 'spot' on the iris of my left eye. She examined my eye and determined the spot was a probable melanoma. She told me frankly that she couldn't treat it but would find someone that could. She was like a dog with a bone! Within a few days, she called me back personally to refer me to a highly credentialed opthalmologist in Austin with the caveat that I would probably end up at MD Anderson.
