Yummy – The food at Frank's is very good. It is inexpensive, and the portions are huge. I have always had good service here.
This used to be one of my favorite restaurants. I used to go there at least once a month. Not any more. Every time we go there, the service gets slower. The quality of their food has dropped as well. The portions are still big, but not nearly as good anymore. I would give it an average at best. I won't likely go back there too soon,
Frank's Sunny Italy Family is AWFUL! WOW! This was the worse Italian food I have ever had. Whatever you do, do not order the Lasagna. Stouffers is better. It was like eating baby food in a jar, that was disguised under all of the cheese. Last I knew Lasagna was a layered square of riccotta, mozzarella, meat if desired.. Not sure what was in there, it was pureed. Disguisting. The rest of the food was so, so.. very tough chicken parm. And the fettucine alfredo was very so so. Mixed service I would definitely recommend Franks for the food but the service can be spotty. Their pasta is always excellent and we always have some to take home.
Good food, prices and portions – Frank's is a Buffalo classic. The food is always good, the portions huge (which doesn't mean stuff yourself, it means have leftovers all weekend). The atmosphere is great for families or groups, but the place doesn't have a very cozy or romantic feel. Parking isn't a problem, either - to the left of the building (as you face it from Delaware Ave), there's a small lot with a bunch of extra spaces that are almost always empty because no one knows about them. Great sauce, huge portions, reasonable prices – I don't understand the one negative review of Frank's.... it sounds like one of those uppity italian food afficionados who like gross delicacies that people only eat to one up themselves on others. Frank's is what Buffalo italian food is all about. It's saucey, they're large portions, and everything is expected to be delicious. italian – I have a friend whose father is from Italy: the father serves lovely, al dente spaghetti with ONE meatball and a VERY LIGHTLY SAUCED plate. Differently, at Frank's, I haven't had such bad, overcooked Italian food since I lived with my mother. Who was not Italian. No question why incredibly huge people eat here. The servings are enough for a family of ten. I could say more but prefer to remain polite.
Excellent! This is the place to go for Italian. Friendly family atmosphere, huge servings, excellent tasting food. Everything I have tried is excellent! Also good price.
A lot of food for the money Franks Sunny Italy is a relaxed family restaurant featuring pastas, pizzas and subs. There antipasti is wonderful, a large is enough for six people. The prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes, and leftovers are a given. Franks also had take out service where you can get the same great food! The take out entrance is to the side of the restaurant, and easily missed.
