My wife and I used to come here every week when we lived in the city - we were surprised to find that there are new owners with a completely different menu. We came back more for the nostalgia of a great simple breakfast place, and were blown away by what the new owner and chef has done with the menu. Everything we ordered was amazing. Amazing, unique breakfast options, with yummy classics as well. The service is amazing! You can tell the chef cares about his food and his customers! A breakfast must in Lincoln Park!
I've been a fan of France's since the 70's. Whenever I am in the neighborhood I stop for a pastrami sandwich and a extra side of potato salad. I was totally delighted to received a generous portion of potato salad rather than the dab of days of old. But was surprised to see the sandwich I ate off of for 3 days reduced to a more moderate portion I could and did eat in one setting. Oh well, things change. But I was horrified to find the pastrami dry and salty. Some things shouldn't change.
