Dr. Heffelfinger is very professional, supportive, friendly and an excellent surgeon. He performed my cataract surgery. Katie in the Optical Department is kind, friendly, professional and thorough. She gave me my out—of-pocket expenses for my glasses 3 weeks ahead of time so I could plan for the expense. The only drawback to Fox Valley Ophthalmology is the front desk staff who, because of high call volume, sometimes come off as rude, abrupt and unprofessional. They need to work on their people skills.
Once I have picked up my glasses from the Elgin office of Fox Valley Ophthalmology, I intend to find another ophthalmologist as the front office staff at both the Elgin and St. Charles offices are rude, abrupt and condescending. The contact in the Surgery Scheduling Department in Elgin, Carrie, is rude, unprofessional and interrupts constantly when I attempt to talk to her. Her supervisor, Julie is even worse.
