Dr. Heffelfinger is very professional, supportive, friendly and an excellent surgeon. He performed my cataract surgery. Katie in the Optical Department is kind, friendly, professional and thorough. She gave me my out—of-pocket expenses for my glasses 3 weeks ahead of time so I could plan for the expense. The only drawback to Fox Valley Ophthalmology is the front desk staff who, because of high call volume, sometimes come off as rude, abrupt and unprofessional. They need to work on their people skills.

Once I have picked up my glasses from the Elgin office of Fox Valley Ophthalmology, I intend to find another ophthalmologist as the front office staff at both the Elgin and St. Charles offices are rude, abrupt and condescending. The contact in the Surgery Scheduling Department in Elgin, Carrie, is rude, unprofessional and interrupts constantly when I attempt to talk to her. Her supervisor, Julie is even worse. They front desk staff is extremely rude. They don’t listen to what you are saying/asking. They will cut you off when your talking and then continue to ask you questions! Maybe if you weren’t so rude and you listened to people you wouldn’t need to keep asking the same questions over and over again. The review is coming after the 4th horrible encounter with rude staff. Enough is enough, I will never return to that office. Sad because Dr. Jalal was good but her staff is so horrible I won’t return.

Dr. Eric Quartetti should NOT be caring for patients, esp children. Here's why: My two-year-old son had an eye injury on a Tuesday evening around 5 p.m. I immediately called his pediatrician who advised me to go to Urgent Care. We went immediately. The doctor examined him and determined that nothing was lodged in his eye. By the end of the appointment, he was looking around and his eye was bloodshot, but no longer profusely watering. New patients, just stay away. My wife are looking to change eye doctors to an organization closer to our residence and we thought this would be a good organization to try based on reviews from Yelp. I've had three interactions with Fox Valley Ophthalmology. In each case, the lady on the other end of the phone has been absolutely awful to deal with while trying to book for us. Thank you to the staff at Fox Valley Ophthalmology, and especially Dr. Halkias! After my dilation, I felt extremely light headed and almost blacked out. Dr. Halkias was very proactive in getting help to me. Through the rest of the exam, she continued to check on me and was so insightful to realize it was happening for a second time. Never made it there. I received a referral and when I calledld for an appointment the person was rude and condescending. Didn't know what she was talking about and kept asking me what I wanted.

We've been going here for years! Very helpful! Very considerate! And of course, professional! We've always felt that our eyes & glasses are in good care! Highly recomended!
