This hotel has gone downhill the past couple of years. I typically stay here for work every 2-3 mos, and have stayed here regularly since 2023. This trip, I purchased $27 worth of fresh food for three days from Scotts Valley Market. I put everything in the mini fridge upon arrival. I noticed that the temp adjust knob was broken but thought it was ok. The next morning everything was frozen solid. The lettuce, salad bar items, and 1/2&1/2 were destroyed. I rarely leave negative reviews, especially as a loyal Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite member who chooses Marriott exclusively when I travel, but my experience at the Four Points by Sheraton Santa Cruz Scotts Valley was unacceptable. I booked three rooms for a three-night stay for my family, and unfortunately the problems seemed endless. We experienced a power outage, no hot water, A/C that did not work properly, and no housekeeping service. I even specifically requested fresh towels and never received them. I received an email at 12:21pm day of check in cancelling my reservation. Staff said it was cancelled due to "unforeseen circumstances". I called to speak with someone live, they wouldn't give me a straight answer on the reason. Once I arrived however, I learned the circumstance was guests who wanted to extend their stay to an extra night. So the hotel decided to cancel my reservation, so that others could extend their stay. The property is nice, so the hotel should be a lot nicer but it is not well kept. The lobby is hot and stuffy; it 89 out and they don’t have the AC on?? We tried to check in at 5 pm and our room wasn’t ready and they could not move us to another room. Check in time is 3 pm.
