I was at Fortu last night for a special occasion, and from the moment I made the reservation, the communication was excellent. I had let the restaurant know ahead of time about the occasion and some specific requests, and every person we interacted with was already aware of them when we arrived. Typing this as I currently wait for my food. 1 hour in and out of the 5 plates I’ve ordered only 2 have arrived. And they bring them 1 by 1. We are two people. This is the slowest service I’ve ever experienced. EDIT: a few minutes after posting this they did come to make it right and offered us a discount on the check.
I really wanted to give Fortu a second chance, but instead I had two disappointing experiences. My first visit was on New Year’s Eve (before the Michelin recognition) with reservations. We were seated at the edge of the sidewalk beside a busy intersection, with constant pedestrian traffic and vehicles passing close to our table. The atmosphere and service felt chaotic.
