Limited Abilities The staff or ladies that assist in this office are wonderful, competent & caring. They are there all the time. He works his business mainly half days. But that's not the real issue. We used this doctor for years but will never go back again. Don't get me wrong. He's a nice man, most of the time. Actually, he can be rather bitchy. Awesome place to go I have been going there for yrs, through 7 cats, 3 dogs and 2 guinea pigs. I find the staff very loving and kind. They get you into the office as soon as they can and will make exceptions if needed. Doc is cool, does the best he can and is always honest and empathetic. They were very understanding and compassionate when one of our guinea pigs died in my 9 yr olds arms at their office. I have moved 30 miles away and I still go there.
Client Everyone is entitled to an opinion...but I TOTALLY disagree with the last review! Dr. Luckow has been my vet and vet for my extended family. Even though he is in a practice by himself, I've never had to wait before an appointment. Yet he gives us all his undivided attention. Yes, he works 6 days a week, z weekdays are half days.. 8-12pm. YOU GUYS ROCK ! I have been a patron for 12 years now - regular stuff - shots, non life threatening items - but recently my 5 year old pug ate somthing that she could not eliminate - cupcake had the best treatment ever , i was so afraid i was going to lose her and she had surgery with no complications and is on the road to recovery !!! Cupcake, Muffin, Toby Snowy and Beta are so happy and grateful !!!! Thanks again and happy holidays !!!
Mom of many pets - Smithtown I had a medical emergency with one of my cats and they took me in with out an appointment. They treated us with honesty and kindness and their rates were very reasonable. I say this because I have brought my pets too many other high end vets within the Huntington area and I have too say I received equally as good if not better than quality care, for alot less money. I will be bringing my pets back. I would recommend them to my family and friends.
Good Care I was very happy with the care my dog received from this animal hospital. This is not his regular vet but they took him in an emergency and they treated my dog kindly and quickly. I was happy with our treatment.
Very compassionate personnel I totally disagree with the unhappy patron. Although this vet was not my usual vet my dog was seen immediately. I knew bringing my dog was a one way trip and it was very upsetting. The staff and Doctor were excellent and very compassionate. I will recommend and use their services in future for my new puppy.
Ft Salonga Animal Hospital I am so totally shocked at the negative review I read about Dr Luckow and his staff that I am compelled to write about my experience there. I have been bringing my pets to Dr Luckow for 25 years now and have received the best advise, care and compassion from the entire staff. dr. luckow the doctor who owns this practice is very incompitant- he barely runs basic testing that i know is important, common practice at other hospitals i have been to. he insisted he was right about diagnosing my dog based on basic examination. if he had even just run a pcv- an in house blood test-he would have know there was something more going on. needless to say when it came time to put him to sleep, dr. luckow did not even give him a sedative before euthenasia, which if you've ever had to go through this you'd know ... read more
