RecommendedThis is my second surgical service provided by FL Eye Institute. They are efficient, professional and current on the latest techniques. The staff is friendly and helpful. Dr Gil Epstein fixed my eyelids 18 months ago and did a fantastic job Dr Ilan Epstein just finished my cataract removals. He has the hands of a surgeon and went above and beyond what ever I expected. Both are kind as well as dedicated to their profession I truly believe they are the best in Broward.
Very disappointed . Last few times to get an appt . Has been met with “ you have to have a referral.” Even though I am an established patient and no referral needed by ins. 10 days ago I called and had to leave a message to request an appt for a problem affecting my vision.. I have yet to receive a return call
Very friendly staff, and the new tablet check in made life a whole lot easier, than having to write it all out on a clip board!!

I'm a nervous wreck and had cataract on both eyes, but Dr. De Castro is always willing to answer any questions (in a way a patient can understand). True Story: The day of my first first cataract operation an elderly man on the bed right next to mine explained to Dr. De Castro a few minutes before his operation that he had changed his mind and that he no longer wanted near vision that he now wanted to see far instead. I brought my elderly mother here yesterday, as she was referred to this office by her ophthalmologist. I accompanied my mom throughout her visit here. We were very impressed with Dr. Lara and his staff. Everyone was kind, caring, and patient with my mother, who walks very slowly and doesn’t hear very well. The office is clean, right down to the restrooms, and thoughtfully laid out. She needs to return for some follow-up visits, and I have no hesitation about bringing her back here. I definitely recommend this practice!
