Shout out to all workers at Fort Bayard Medical Center. When visiting my parents, all I see is hard working employees.They had a July Birthday celebrations with music, cake and ice cream, and they where dancing with the patients.The patients seem to be enjoying the socializing...On the 4th of July outing the staff did a fantastic job on transporting the patients in and out of the van. Staff is super friendly and kind!. Clean attentive staff. However leadership personnel called w a very discriminate analysis of my service dog then proceeded to apologize to my male neighbor!!!! and never followed up contacting me. Director is too busy to be polite Very discriminatory leadership Certainly not pining away for an apology but gender discrimination is quite clear

Melissa Salas, the DON is very prejudice against others. She denied admission to my mother who really qualified for long term care and didn’t treat her with the dignity and respect it states in the resident rights. She made my mother feel like she was a burden and a big issue. As well as Erlinda Sierra. Stay away from this place at all costs unless you want your parent to become depressed after being denied and feel like they’re a problem. They only do it for the money here not out of compassion.
