I was living at the girls group home on Pine Rest campus. DR. Masterson locked me in a room all day and refused to let me go to school because I didn't drink an ensure drink. When I went back to the group home the staff said he told them he had to restrain me and drag me down to the unit because I was not being safe. This is absolutely NOT true and when he said follow me I walked with him(not knowing where we were going) and he took me to a room and locked it where I sat all day because I didn't drink the drink. An amazing soul and gifted in his field of work. After seeing multiple Doctors and Psychiatrists; there is not one more knowledgeable that actually cares about the patient than Dr. Masterson.

I was in pine rest due to severe depression a couple of times as a teenager and this man traumatized me ten times more than he helped me. He forced medications on me, lied to me, intimidated me, and he once locked me in some sort of padded room because I refused to do a therapy writing assignment that I was uncomfortable with. He is completely power hungry and uncaring. Not only should he not be in this field, he should be in serious trouble for the pain and suffering that he's causes to MANY patients. I was admitted inpatient to Pinerest in GR when I was 11, under false pretenses. I knew I didn’t need medication, and kept stressing this to the staff at Pinerest. Dr Masterson consistently tried to intimidate me into taking medication, claiming he could “keep me there til im 80 years old.” I said no he couldn’t, and he continued saying “you don’t think so?
